Post-punk rocker duo Hymns jammed exclusively for Demon FM 107.5 on Sunday 17th April at 12-1.30pm
Sam Manville and drummer Peter Reisner have developed an eclectic sound by transposing classical music composer Arvo Part’s evocative orchestral music to powerful, haunting tracks that convey eerie, raw emotions using vocals, a guitar and drum kit. Their single “A Punch to the Temple” (February 2011) is a blend of punk/rock cadenced guitar riffs and metal-like screamed lyrics, which flow into a captivatingly terse and melodious chorus.
Hymns are set to play in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Burton Upon Trent through May.
