The following audio was recorded during the night of the General Election, 6th-7th May 2010 at the Aylestone Leisure Centre counting station. The seats declared at the location were the constituencies of Leicester East, Leicester South and Leicester West.

The Labour party held all three seats during the course of the evening, which lasted long into the morning with the team needing a lot of sleep and a lot of cornflakes afters!
This part of the recording is an introduction to the three other podcasts for each individual result in the order of counting finished- Leicester West, Leicester East and Leicester South. It includes general facts and figures from Leicester including previous elections and the turnouts recieved for each constituency in the General Election 2010.
